La
giornata di sabato scorso è stata caratterizzata da alternanza di nubi
nere e nubi grigie. All'arrivo a Carrouges ho fatto autostop in un bar e
mi sono spostato a Alençon dove ho trovato un piccolo hotel (ma con un
nome enorme: Hotel de Paris).
Sabato sera ho messo subito ad asciugare
gli indumenti lavati e non (nel senso che mi son messo nudo sotto le
coperte fino alla tarda mattinata, vale a dire le 8). Sono uscito per
una buona colazione (te e croissant) col sole in cielo.
Andavo in cerca
del marciapiede soleggiato per asciugare completamente camicia e
pantaloni, ma soprattutto per sentire il sole e un po’ di calore sulla
pelle. Ho girato per la città, senza il peso dello zaino sulle spalle e
coi sandali ai piedi, quasi come un turista. Graziosa Alençon. Un fiume
che la attraversa, un bel centro storico, pulita, un mercatino
domenicale (credo) di frutta, verdura e pesce con prezzi più bassi dei
negozi, a giudicare dalla folla. Ho mangiato un panino kebab con una
birra e sono tornato in camera pronto per incontrare Vincent Johel (che
ho conosciuto a Foggia nel 2009 in uno dei primi convegni organizzati
sulla Via Francigena) e Marie-Paul Labèy, presidente dellassociazione
"Les Chemins du Mont Saint Michel".
Abbiamo preso possesso di tre tavoli
in un bar ed abbiamo steso carte geografiche, depliant, libri (fra cui
quello molto importante di Renzo Infante, docente dell'università di
Foggia di Storia cristiana e medievale, ma soprattutto uno dei più
grandi esperti dei Cammini europei che le nostre Istituzioni provinciali
e regionali dovrebbero coinvolgere maggiormente nelle progettazioni) a
supporto di una discussione che è durata più di tre ore.
Marie e Vincent
si occupano di ciò che è intorno al fenomeno Mont Saint Michel per la
riscoperta dei pellegrinaggi storici nel nostro nuovo millennio.
Conoscono il territorio francese approfonditamente ed è stato un grande
piacere ricevere consigli su ciò che sto facendo e su quello che potremo
fare a distanza al mio rientro in Italia. Mi è dispiaciuto il momento
dei saluti che abbiamo immortalato con una fotografia.

Last
Saturday has been characterized by the rotation of dark and grey
clouds. When I arrived to Carrouges I asked for a lift in a café and I
moved to Alençon where I found a small hotel (but with a great name:
Hotel de Paris).
Saturday evening I immediately put to dry the
washed and unwashed clothes (that is I put myself naked under the
blankets until the late forenoon, that is until 8). I went out for a
good breakfast (tea and croissant), it was sunny.
I was trying to
walk on sunny spaces to dry completely my shirt and pants, but above all
to feel the sun and some heat on the skin. I walked around the city,
without the weight of the knapsack on the shoulders and with the sandals
at the feet, almost like a tourist. Alençon is lovely.
A river
crosses it, it has a nice historical center, it is clean, with a corner
market on Sundays where you can buy fruit, vegetable and fish at lower
prices than in the shops. I ate a sandwich/kebab and a beer, then I
returned in my bedroom ready to meet Vincent Johel (that I knew in one
of the first conferences organized on the Street Francigena in 2009 in
Foggia) and Marie-Paul Labèy, president of the association "Les Chemins
du Mont Saint Michel".
We took three tables in a cafè and we opened
maps, brochures, books (among which the one of Renzo Infante is very
important, teacher of Christian and medieval History in the university
of Foggia, but above all one of the greatest experts of the European
Walks that our provincial and regional Institutions should mostly
involve in their plannings) to support the discussion which lasted more
than three hours. Marie and Vincent deal about the Mont Saint Michel
phenomenon for the rediscovery of the historical pilgrimages in the new
millennium. They know the French territory very well and it was a great
pleasure to receive suggestions about what I am doing and about what we
can do in the future when I will go back in Italy. I was sorry to leave
them, so we took some photos togheter.
