L’addio a Nevers è stato molto commovente. Innanzitutto ho dato un ultimo saluto a Santa Bernadette con una sentita preghiera per me e per qualcun’altro e poi Padre Bertrand mi ha atteso alle 7 e mi ha portato davanti la grotta simile a quella di Lourdes e ha benedetto il mio Cammino chiedendomi di non dimenticare il sassolino per lui.
Tappa lunga e il dopo arrivo ancora più lungo perché l’organizzazione di domani mi ha preso tutta la serata. Ho trovato un hotel che costa poco (e vale meno) situato a 5 km dal punto di partenza di domani. Parto (sono le 5 del mattino 4 luglio) nella consapevolezza che non riuscirò a finire la tappa di oggi. 40 chilometri sono troppi dopo i 35 di ieri. È arrivato anche qui il caldo. È scoppiato all’improvviso ieri. Spero di trovare qualche alloggio per strada. Dormire all’aperto non se ne parla perché verrei mangiato vivo dalle zanzare. Spero che San Michele mi dia una mano.

ENGLISH VERSION
The
farewell to Nevers was very touching. First of all I said goodbye to
Saint Bernadette with one felt prayer, devoted to me and to someone
else, and then Father Bertrand waited for me at 7 o'clock to lead me in
front of a cave, that was similar to Lourdes’ ; shortly afterwards he
blessed my Path asking me not to forget the pebble with his name.
It
was a long stage and then I spent all the evening in the organization
of the stage of tomorrow. I found a hotel with low prices that was 5km
distant from the starting point of tomorrow. I kick over (It’s 5 o’clock
a.m. of 4th July) with the awareness that I won't succeed in ending the
stage of today. 40 kilometers are too many after the 35km of yesterday.
The warm came also here. It came suddenly yesterday. I hope to find
some shelter along the path. To sleep at the open air it’s quite out of
the question because I would be eaten alive from the mosquitos. I hope
that St. Michael will give me a hand.
